Makr140-Planning the Final Project

Makr140-Planning the Final Project

I use Microsoft One Note for collecting my scattered thoughts. To show the sketches and planning for my Final Project, I have included the One Note document I created for the project.

Project needs to use 3 different techniques or tools. The easiest way for me to satisfy this requirement was by creating a game. On a walk around midtown, I formulated the key elements of a new game.

Game- tentative name TUIT. WOODEN NICKELS

2-5 players

Goal: Be the first to gather 7 round tuits

Materials-

  1. playing card stock-Dollar Tree placemats?
Color “buy” cards. 30. DIE
Action cards50
  1. 2. Tokens- thin wood, 1″ diameter 3 mil thick
35Tuits
1Wooden nickel
  • 3. dice
  • 4 Design for cards printed on HP LaserJet, front and  back
  • 5 Possible poster board with seamless patterned paper on back.
  • 6. Player’s rack design seven slots

Tools

  • Silhouette for card stock
  • Laser cutter for tokens
  • Roland for card faces
  • 3d printer for card and token storage and player’s rack

Steps

Design

  • Card back & Front
  • Action cards (5)
  • Token rack
  • Token faces (2)

Gather materials

  • Wood
  • Dice
  • Cardstock

Game play

Shuffle action cards, place in the middle.  This is the “draw” pile.

Shuffle and deal 4  buy cards to each player and give 1 tuit.

The action cards are placed in the middle.  The game begins by

he first player turning over the top action card and following the directions on the card.  When the turn is finished, play continues to the left.

If your action says “Buy  a tuit”, it will specify a color.   You must have the matching  color card  (or a wild card)    and surrender it to buy a tuit. You may then draw another color card from the deck   If you do not have the specified color in your cards, you cannot buy a tuit and your turn ends.

You are only allowed to hold 7 tokens at one time.  A wooden nickel counts as one of those tokens.  You cannot win until you get rid of it.

Action card ideas

“Buy a tuit with a (blue, red, yellow, green) roll” 4   each (16 cards)

“Take a wooden nickel” 4

“Give one token to the player of your choice (tuit OR nickel)  4

“Trade your coin rack with the person on your left” 2

“Put one tuit back in the cache” 4
