- Materials:
- Small cotton tote bag from Dollar Tree
- The biggest challenge
- This was a little more difficult to weed than previous projects due to some small openings, but really not too bad
- What am I most proud of?
- I was proud of the fact that the material cost was minimal and that my grandniece was thrilled with her bag
- What would I do differently next time?
- I might have spent a little more time on the design. This was a very quick and fairly easy project..
I used a new (to me) site called Kittl.com to create a graphic to cut on the Silhouette using Heat Transfer Vinyl. Kittl allowed me to design this for free. Credits can be purchased for generating AI. graphics or quote . A subscription, including 20 credits per day is available with a 50% discount for students,
Next, I used Inkscape to trace the bitmap of the design and created an SVG of the graphic.
I had picked up a few blank cotton bags at the Dollar Tree and used one for this project. I am very pleased with the results.
Designed, cut, and weeded at home, but brought it into the MakerSpace to use the heat press. I expect to bring another in next week to satisfy my lab time for MAKR151.
My grandniece is 2 years old, and I thought she might like a little bag with her name on it. The best part? She liked it!
